I appeared on Martha Stewart on January 19th, 2007. I applied to be on the "Teach Martha" segment of the show while trying to get me and my 20-year pen-pal on a talk show for a fun reunion.

Within 2-hours of them receiving my samples & press-kit, they asked me to send in a demo. video. My graphic-design training at HSU helped me make a great faux-press-release and they put me in the "yes" folder until the February 2007 InStyle magazine had a Louis Vuitton necklace just like mine that retailed for $850.

January 10th around 6pm they told me I was for-sure going to be on the show. Sunday the 14th I would fly to NYC and on the morning of the 15th it was taped.

Seeing myself on the Front Page of www.MarthaStewart.com was the most exciting feeling of my life.

My segment opened with Martha showing the Louis Vuitton version and then stated that I make them for less than $2.50 each. This was fact-checked by my segment producers.

I was totally calm and they actually made me drink a coffee to combat the "low-energy" state that I was in. The producers prepared me so well that I could do this craft in my sleep.

If you would like to watch my segment, here is the link to it on Google Video.

Martha is tall and beautiful with glittering blue eyes, and it was a wonderful experience and I am beyond thankful for the opportunity and the Gift of Street-Cred for Life.

Martha asked me very specific questions before we rolled like "How did I learn to sew" and how much bulk I buy and cost breakdown.

I looked inside many of the cabinets and drawers that you see on the set. They really have supplies in them and they are as meticulously organized as your fantasy imagines.

I literally sat at home and sewed hundreds of these in the weeks after my appearance. I would make a laundry-basket full, then package and ship the orders. I wouldn't let anyone help me. Maybe once or twice my husband helped. He also gave me the idea to sew the tube when I was originally trying to build the necklace.

I love, love, love Martha Stewart and the people who helped make my segment possible. I am still in touch with one of my segment producers - just as friends. I also go to the Eva Scrivo Salon after meeting Eva and J.D. who did my hair for my segment. Eva is a chapter in The Martha Rules of Business book and I’m thankful that I get to live in New York City and have such a lovely life and go to such a fancy salon.
